Army All American Bowl Kicks off 2007 Season!

A joint performance group consisting of the RPE Drumline, RIW Guard, and a small group of DBC hornline members, alumni and friends, kicked off the 2007 pregame during the player introductions and during the first half of the Army All American Bowl making the first public appearance this season a huge success.  Many thanks to all that helped make this off-season event so successful and we look forward to other future performances of this nature for the YPA family!

Websites Update coming in 2007

More info soon!

9/19/2006

Sloan (Churchill HS World) & Monacelli (WGI hall of Fame) join 2007 staff.

During the off-season many significant changes have occurred to help propel RIW further up the competitive ranks and help solidify our educational base. After 3 solid years with the same team of instructors and clinicians, the organization felt the need to change direction and seek other avenues of assistance. Not having to go very far, Revolution has teamed up with one of San Antonio’s most prolific designers in Mike Sloan, and one of the activity’s most innovative designers in Vincent Monacelli! These two larger than life individuals will bring new life to our very energetic team of returning staff and members! The second auditions / Clinic is planned for October 21st and 22nd. All prospective members and HS members wishing to gain further skills can attend. Check the website often for further information and updates to the 2007 season.

From the Director:

INCREDIBLE!!!! One word to describe our weekend.  26 guard members from all over Texas tried their luck and skill at Revolution's 1st audition for the 2007 season.

First, I would like to thank John Jay High School for sponsoring our audition.  We never felt more welcomed.  Special thanks to Frank Foster and Adam Duron for their efforts in securing the facility for this weekend.

It is now quite obvious that we will be securing a biggerfacility for our next audition October 21st and October 22nd.  With already 15 more confirmed guard members wishing to audition, it may be very possible that we will field an A guard this year in addition to our Open Class guard.

The professionalism of my caption head (AJay)and his staff (Moses, Tom, Adam and Brian) brought me to my knees as well as the drive and determination from each individual who auditioned this weekend.  We even received a surprise visit from Mike Sloan who will be very involved with our show this year. I would also like to welcome to our staff Jake Edel who will be heading up our logistics department.

So to my new recruits......keep on spinning because together we WILL move

mountains.

New director Named for RIW 2007 season!

Chris Ganem has been working with RIW and the DBC since 2003. She also has served as Secretary of the Revolution YPA Board of Directors since 2004. Chris brings to the group some new ideas and her sound business sense to continue the legacy of RIW. She works as a Texas State Licensed Irrigator and Backflow Prevention Tester where she oversees a very successful business. Her love for music started back in the 3rd grade as a band student who eventually became the drum major for both junior and senior high schools as she continued through school. She taught the high school "flag" team and wrote drill for the marching band during her senior year of high school. She graduated high school with honors and won the John Phillip Sousa scholarship for her leadership in the field of music. After graduation, she marched with the Cal Poly State University Flag team and earned her degree in Business Administration. She is very excited about her new position with RIW and encourages everyone to come see the exciting changes for this year.
